Scud dumps Delta for Paris

US heiress Paris Hilton has boasted she is having a relationship with Australia
n tennis player Mark Philippoussis.

"I've got a new man, and I'm head over heels in love," 23-year-old Hilton is sa
id to have claimed late yesterday.

"I adore him, he's so hot. His name is Mark Philippoussis."

Hilton made the extraordinary statements at a jeans store in trendy West Hollyw
ood during a shopping spree. She and her sister, Nicky, were acting as personal
 guides for two competition winners from Melbourne.

According to project organiser James Young, shoppers were stunned when Hilton n
amed Philippoussis as her new beau.

She then proudly showed an SMS picture of the topless tennis star on a beach in
 board shorts.

Mr Young, managing partner of creative agency SEE, said Hilton then sent a text
 message to say she was hosting shoppers from Philippoussis's home town.

Philippoussis replied with his own message.

"Aw," Paris sighed. "He thinks it's really sweet. I love him, I love him, I lov
e him."

Hilton's publicist Richard Squire and Kylie Speer of SEE were reportedly gobsma
cked when Hilton dropped the bombshell.

When told Philippoussis was dating singer Delta Goodrem, Hilton reportedly said
: "Not any more. That is completely over."

She then reportedly made the surprising claim that the Scud had dropped Goodrem
 because he was bored.

Goodrem, in London, has declined to comment on her relationship with Philippous
sis during interviews over the past fortnight.

However, earlier this month she said of the tennis star: "We have an overseas r
elationship. It's a very long-distance relationship, which, of course, is very
hard. But everything is fine."

Last week, Philippoussis's trainer said he would move to California to regenera
te his tennis career.

"He is moving back here to work out," fitness adviser Markus Heon said. "It's a
 new breath of fresh air for Mark."

It is also closer to Hilton's base in Beverly Hills.

Hilton, a hotel-chain heiress and television star, is the hottest celebrity in
the world.

She has been romantically linked to actors Leonardo DiCaprio, Edward Furlong, J
ared Leto and boxer Oscar de la Hoya.

She split with former Backstreet Boy Nick Carter in July, and had a holiday fli
ng with Australian Idol finalist Rob Mills during last year's spring racing car
nival.

Hilton also starred in an infamous home-made sex video released by a former lov
er, Rick Salomon.

The Scud's relationship list is equally impressive.

He has dated Anna Kournikova, actresses Tara Reid and models Tania Zaetta and S
usie Thorne.

Goodrem is in London this week promoting her single Out Of The Blue – a love s
ong about the Scud.
