ITF and NH Hoteles Announce Davis Cup Sponsorship
London, ENGLAND, 02 Mar 2004 - The International Tennis Federation (ITF) announ
ced today that NH Hoteles, the Spanish international hotel chain, has become an
International Sponsor and the Official Hotel of Davis Cup. Francesco Ricci
Bitti, President of the International Tennis Federation, and Gabriele Burgio,
Chairman of NH Hoteles, today signed an official three-year agreement at the
NH Eurobuilding in Madrid.
The agreement started with the first round of the 2004 Davis Cup by BNP Paribas
last month, with the company enjoying on-site and on-court benefits at all
Davis Cup ties worldwide. NH Hoteles is the first Spanish company to become
an international sponsor of Davis Cup.
ITF President Francesco Ricci Bitti said: “We are delighted to associate our
flagship competition with NH Hoteles and look forward to working with such an
outstanding company. NH Hoteles is one of the fastest growing brands in the
world and Davis Cup with its international reach is a perfect fit.”
Gabriele Burgio, Chairman of NH Hoteles, said: “We are very happy to be able
to combine our efforts with one of the top international sporting competitions.
Davis Cup continues to set new standards in sport and this is the direction NH
Hoteles wants to head in, always working at the highest level of competition.”
NH Hoteles becomes the eighth new sponsor in Davis Cup over the last three year
s. The company joins title sponsor BNP Paribas (Official Bank of Davis Cup),
and international sponsors Adecco (Official Recruitment), Fossil (Official
Watch), Getronics (Official ICT Sponsor), Hugo Boss (Official Men’s Fashion
Sponsor) and Kia Motors (Official Car). International partners are COLT Telecom
(Official Managed Hosting Partner) and Wilson Sporting Goods (Official Ball).
Davis Cup by BNP Paribas is the largest annual international team competition
in sport with 137 nations entered in 2004.
