　　新浪體育訊　北京時間4月26日消息，網壇帥哥拉夫特與女友終於結束了愛情長跑步
入婚姻殿堂。根據國外媒體報道，拉夫特和模特女友菲爾薩姆上周六在斐濟小島的一個度
假聖地上舉辦了屬於他們的私人小型婚禮儀式。

　　根據澳大利亞聯合通訊社報道，這對愛侶花了過去九個月的時間一直低調地準備著兩
人的秘密婚禮──在穆斯科特-科夫度假小島上舉行浪漫的海灘婚禮。

　　參加婚禮的只有40余名家庭成員和最為親近的朋友，當然還少不了兩人的愛情結晶─
─20個月大的兒子喬什華。

　　31歲的拉夫特在退出網壇後就成為這個海灘度假聖地的常客。當拉夫特決定在這個度
假聖地舉行秘密婚禮的時候，最傷腦筋的可能要算是這個海灘度假聖地的市場經理史密斯
，他說：“最困難的事情是要保守這個秘密，我們在九個月前就知道了他們將在這裡舉行
婚禮，很多人向我們詢問這個問題，而我們也不得不編造謊言來欺騙他們。”

　　拉夫特作為澳大利亞最受歡迎的體育項目的運動明星在去年退出網壇，而他的輝煌戰
績令人難忘，曾經排名世界第一，兩次進入溫網決賽，並在1997年和1998年兩奪美網冠軍
。依稀記得的還有拉夫特飛散在風中的飄逸長發，如今球場上的拉夫特已經漸行漸遠，我
們看到的是一個丈夫拉夫特和父親拉夫特。

Rafter and Lara get married in paradise

Australian tennis champion Pat Rafter and his long-time partner, former model
Lara Feltham, are marrying in a secret ceremony in Fiji this weekend.

The Sun-Herald was at Sydney Airport to farewell Rafter as he and 20-month-old
son Joshua flew out on Friday afternoon, bound for the tropical island.

The former Australian of the Year was relaxed as he queued with other business
class passengers for the flight into Nadi.

Amid his carry-on luggage were several red and white Hawaii-style T-shirts in
a suit bag, just the thing for a beach-side party.

"No mate, there's nothing happening," Rafter said coyly, before posing for our
photographer. "Just a family holiday."

As he was leaving the check-in counter, the two-time US Open winner stopped
briefly to chat with a woman further back in the line, presumably a family
friend, and handed over his son for a quick cuddle.

On Friday afternoon he arrived in Nadi before taking a catamaran to Musket
Cove Island Resort, 15 kilometres west of Nadi, on Malolo Lailai Island.

Rafter was soon recognised by the sports-fanatic locals.

A tourist operator said Rafter had taken the 45-minute ride to the island as
part of "a wedding group".

"We dropped him off at Musket [Cove] a bit earlier," the operator confirmed.

But the expected wedding site was on Malolo Lailai at the Plantation Island
Resort.

Rafter first started dating Feltham just before the 1998 adidas International
at White City.

After his retirement in 2001, and the appearance of an engagement ring on
Feltham's wedding finger in 2002, it was widely predicted he was set to wed
his sweetheart. The couple then received unwanted attention when Rafter, an
unmarried father, was named 2002 Australian of the Year.

Yesterday, Plantation Island Resort general manager Patrick Wong said the
celebrity wedding arrangements had been "hush, hush".

"Even the staff don't know about it - it is basically very intimate.

"We are basically just getting ready and waiting for him to arrive."

The resort boasts seven kilometres of white sandy beaches, two restaurants,
three bars including a pool bar, a nine-hole golf course and tennis courts.

Accommodation in one of the resort's deluxe beachfront bures costs about $380
per night.

Plantation Island specialises in weddings, handling more than 30 a year.

A marriage licence fee of $16 Fijian (about $12) is required by Fijian law
for those looking to tie the knot.

Locations for a wedding ceremony suggested by the resort's internet page
include: the village church, which is perched overlooking the island; a
secluded beach location where Fijian warriors carry the bride on a traditional
ceremonial chair; the resort's floating pontoon; or a tidal sandbar accessible
only by boat.

Packages for a simple wedding start at under $1,000.

SPECULATION is rife tennis great Pat Rafter will marry long-time love Lara
Feltham in Fiji this weekend.

The Australian superstar, 31, arrived in the sun-drenched holiday
destination on Friday to join former model Feltham and their 20-month-old
son, Joshua.
Asked at Nadi airport if he was in Fiji to marry, Rafter refused to comment.
But the former US Open champion has recently confided to friends he and
Feltham would soon tie the knot - and he wanted the ceremony kept secret.

When contacted on her mobile phone yesterday, Rafter's sister, Louise,
refused to confirm her brother was preparing to marry.

Rafter's parents, Jim and Jocelyn, and his brothers, Peter and Steve, are in
Fiji.

Last night a family friend, who asked not to be identified, said: "Jim and
Jocelyn rarely travel overseas, so the fact they are in Fiji would suggest
marriage is on the cards.

"I couldn't imagine them travelling there for a holiday - but there's no way
they would miss Pat's wedding."

The Rafter party was last night enjoying the luxury of the exclusive
Sheraton Fiji Resort, where basic rooms start at $500 a night.

Sources close to the family suggested the wedding was unlikely to take place
at the hotel.

Instead, they hinted the ceremony could be held at the nearby Plantation
Island Resort, 15km west of Nadi in Fiji's Mamanuca Islands.

Rafter and Feltham, 34, became one of Australia's darling couples soon after
they began dating in 1997.

They were introduced the previous year at a charity event in Sydney for the
Starlight Children's Foundation.

Their romance quickly blossomed and Feltham, who was based in London,
juggled modelling assignments with appearances on the tennis circuit.

Rafter first hinted he and Feltham would marry when he was named Australian
of the Year in 2002. Soon afterwards, with Feltham pregnant, they left their
Bermuda base and returned to Australia permanently.

They always planned to move home before starting a family.

Rafter announced his retirement from tennis in January last year.

In photos after the birth of Joshua, Feltham was spotted wearing a
three-stone diamond engagement ring. At the time Rafter's brother/manager
Steve did not deny marriage was on the cards.

"It's something Pat will talk about when he's ready. He'll do that in time,"
Steve Rafter said. "He's just focusing on mum and bub at the moment -
everything else can hold on."

With the birth of Joshua, Rafter became the country's most famous
stay-at-home dad.

Despite having retired, Rafter remains a favourite Australian sporting
identity. Earlier this year he commanded the spotlight when he made a brief
return to the court, playing doubles with mate Joshua Eagle in the
Australian Hardcourt Championship in Adelaide and the Australian Open.

Last week, he played Australian rules in Sydney for the North Shore Bombers.

He is said to have been struggling with retirement, missing the excitement
of international tennis, but not wanting to go back to the grind of touring.
