He had previously shared the record of 78 titles with Tom Okker. [Check out Todd Woodbridge's Career Doubles Titles Statistics] Woodbridge and Bjorkman won their 12th title as a team, claiming the title with out dropping a set. Woodbridge claimed his fourth Sydney title, having won in 1995, ’98, and ’00. Woodbridge has won the past three finals he has contested (US Open, Stockholm, Sydney - all with Bjorkman) and is 79-29 in career finals. Bjorkman and Woodbridge improved to 5-2 in career meetings against the Bryans and avenged their third-set tie-break loss to the American twins at last year's Tennis Masters Cup in Houston. Woodbridge: “There's still plenty to achieve in tennis and in life, isn't there? But I've got to tell you, I'm a little happier and fulfilled than I thought I would be about today. The crowd was fantastic. I didn't know what I expected. But it was a full house who knew what they were watching today - the verge of breaking a record and seeing a part of, I guess tennis history written. “To be able to say that I won more than anybody in the history of doubles tennis is something I never began in my career to go after; but I got there, and I'm pretty happy with that. “To win it at home, it was a perfect script, really. I tied the record in Stockholm with Jonas, in his hometown, and broke it in my hometown. I've got to say I'm glad I did it here. This was perfect. “I'm going to continue to go out there, and I want to continue to win. I enjoy winning. I've got to tell you that's the reason I stay out here; it's a bit of a drug, that feeling you get when you win.” Bjorkman: “I said earlier this week that I really hope we can win either Sydney or Melbourne just because having the chance for Todd to celebrate breaking the record back home. It couldn't be a better finish, I think, doing it in Sydney . “I think it's been great for me to take advantage of playing with Todd. He's so smart out there on the court, finding ways how to come back in matches where you're down, and also trying to find ways of how to work the ball out there. And I think that's definitely something that is very unique these days.” -- 真是恭喜了!:) -- ※ 發信站: 批踢踢實業坊(ptt.cc) ◆ From: 61.64.102.35 ※ 編輯: Woodforde 來自: 61.64.102.35 (01/18 08:17)
