Karlovic, who upset Lleyton Hewitt in the first round of Wimbledon last year, fell to Todd Martin 7-6(4), 7-6(4), 7-6 (7) in the second round of the Australian Open on Wednesday Karlovic defeated American Mardy Fish in three tie-break sets in the first round when neither player dropped serve. On Wednesday Karlovic again played three tie-breaks against Martin, but this time the American came out on top. Martin described the serve of 6' 10'' Karlovic as 遅emarkable.?Martin added: 戦 t's not the biggest (I've seen) but it's the best. It's unbelievable. He serves from a tree, he serves hard. But he is so accurate it's astounding.? Martin has won all five tie-breaks he has played in the first two rounds. In his opening match Martin rallied from two sets down for the ninth time in his career to defeat Antony Dupuis 4-6, 4-6, 7-6(5), 7-6(4), 6-3. Asked if he considered the prospect that he may not be able to break Karlovic's serve, Martin said: 戦 walked out on the court understanding that that was wel l within the realm of possibility. I knew Mardy and Ivo didn't have any breaks the other day?I bumped into Sjeng Schalken?and he said he'd beaten Karlovic six , six and six in Flushing Meadows last year. It was nice to hear that somewhere along the line he lost a few tie-breaks also.?
