Rubin & Schnyder latest losses for Key Biscayne by MICHELLE KAUFMAN The NASDAQ-100 Open women's field lost its fifth top 10 player Sunday when ninth-ranked Chanda Rubin pulled out with a knee injury. She joins Justine Henin-Hardenne (scheduling issue), Kim Clijsters (wrist injury), Amelie Mauresmo (back injury) and Lindsay Davenport (scheduling issue) on the no-show list for the event on Key Biscayne. ''I am so sorry I am not going to be able to play the NASDAQ-100 this year, but my knee has caused me to withdraw from Indian Wells and now Miami, and it's very frustrating,'' Rubin said. ``I need a little more time to rest it.'' The weakened field opens the door for Serena Williams, who is making her comeback after an eight-month injury hiatus following knee surgery. Williams, with a special exemption, will be the top seed, followed by older sister Venus, who missed the second half of last season with an abdominal injury. Jennifer Capriati, Anastasia Myskina, Svetlana Kuznetsova and Nadia Petrova are the other top women in the field. Patty Schnyder and Felix Mantilla also withdrew Sunday because of injuries. Qualifying begins today, and the main draw begins Wednesday. The tournament runs through April 4.
