Courier, Noah, Novotna named to Hall of Fame ballot

NEW YORK, Sept 7 (Reuters) - Former grand slam champions Jim Courier, Yannick N
oah and Jana Novotna were among eight players nominated to the ballot for the I
nternational Tennis Hall of Fame on Tuesday.
Owen Davidson, Christine Truman Janes, Patricia 'Canning' Todd, Earl 'Butch' Bu
cholz Jr and Eiichi Kawatei were the others named to the ballot.
Four-times grand slam champion Courier, 1983 French Open winner Noah and 1998 W
imbledon champion Novotna were named in the Recent Player category.
A panel of international tennis media will vote on the trio, with a 75 percent
favourable vote needed to induct them into the Hall of Fame.
The successful nominees will be announced in January 2005.
