如果只是為了去 Padre Island ，去Corpus Christy的北端就夠了。
Padre Island南北斷斷續續超過一百英哩，景色都一樣。
如果是為了去Brownsville 與墨西哥邊境遊玩，甚至過邊界去墨西哥
逛一逛，才值得大老遠跑去Brownsville, Texas。
從Houston 開車到Corpus Christy與Brownsville 的路途，沒有高速
公路，只有普通公路，很多路段只有雙線對開又沒分向安全島，駕車
要特別小心。路上有不少往來於墨西哥邊境的大卡車與連結貨車，更
要小心。
Corpus Christy的USS Lexington 航空母艦，並不是唯一留存下來開
放參觀的二次大戰航空母艦，紐約市與舊金山灣區的Oakland 都有不
同的二次大戰航空母艦可以買票上去參觀。
Corpus Christy與Brownsville 除了航空母艦或墨西哥邊境或Padre
Island，現在能想到的景點只有西班牙人留下的教會古蹟，如果是天
主教或基督教的，可能會有些興趣。Corpus Christy地名原始字義就
是基督屍體，也是以教會為中心建立的小城市。

我只去過一次，從Corpus Christi向外海方向跨越幾座橋，到 Padre
Island列島最北端，只是普通二輪傳動汽車，沿著海灘向南開三到五
英哩就落腳，在沙灘旁邊紮營升火烤肉，附近其他車輛最多的是RV大
車，就是車上有床鋪、廚房、浴室、廁所等設備的休旅車。
當地的景色主要就是海與沙灘以及沙丘，我們在半夜發現有coyote幾
隻來偷吃營帳外埋在沙灘下烤肉吃剩的骨頭，可以算是特殊景點嗎？

要去Brownsville 或美墨邊境附近，最好隨身帶好護照與I-20文件，
以備查驗。若要越界進入墨西哥，I-20要先請學校國際學生辦公室簽
名。墨西哥靠近美國幾十英哩內算是自由貿易區，應該不用墨西哥簽
證就可以入境，但不建議開車進入墨西哥，以免失竊或損傷。
若真的要辦墨西哥簽證，休士頓有墨西哥領事館。
