1.最近讀了 一些劇本 The Room, and The Birthday Party (by Pinter) 加上以前讀過的 The Homecoming and The Dumb Waiter 覺得一樣像謎 不知到底劇本要講什麼 但弔詭的是劇本因此有多種詮釋的可能 2. 讀“Rhinoceros”( by Ionesco) 則容易懂多了 同時想起他寫的 The Chairs 後者的感覺很像 Samuel Beckett 的 Waiting for Godot (板主抱歉, 以下用英文可以嗎? 受不了了, 中文輸入真的很慢很慢) The couple parallels the two tramps. Both pairs of characters are “waiting” for someone or something that will change their condition , bring meanings to their life, and carry the message for them. For Beckett, there is no such a person or a thing that can fulfill such a desire and longing; that is why Godot never appears. We humans can do nothing about the fruitless, purposeless existence. And Ionesco seems to express the same idea in a different way. Godot finally shows up in “The Chairs’ in the name of the orator, who the old couple are desperately expecting. The orator is supposed to send or carry messages about the meaning of life. Ironically and poignantly, it turns out that he is both dumb and deaf. What he can make is only blurring sounds without any meanings. I feel the human situation in The Chairs is more depressing and saddening because it is very certain that there is no hope left while at least the two tramps can keep waiting. -- ※ 發信站: 批踢踢實業坊(ptt.cc) ◆ From: 219.80.200.145
