Thunder offer Scott Brooks four-year deal http://0rz.tw/1vfOW http://0rz.tw/VedY1 The Oklahoma City Thunder have added a fourth year to a contract extension offer to coach Scott Brooks, but the two sides still have significant differences on salary, league sources told Yahoo! Sports. Brooks’ contract expires on Saturday, and he could immediately become a candidate for the Portland Trail Blazers , sources said. Thunder GM Sam Presti and Brooks’ agent, Warren LeGarie, have had conversations this week, but there is still a gap between the sides. The Thunder have reportedly already offered Brooks a three-year deal just under $11 million. Brooks made $2.1 million last season, which was the final year of his contract. Presti has said that Brooks’ situation was at the “top” of the team’s offseason to-do list and has stressed that Brooks has immense value to the organization. With rumors beginning to circulate involving Jeff Van Gundy and Phil Jackson, Presti shot them down by calling them “rubbish.” It’s pretty clear the Thunder want Scott Brooks back as head coach of the team, but it’s a numbers game. Brooks wants to be paid like a top level coach and the Thunder are trying to be prudent about how much they dish out. To me, it’s never really been an issue of if, but more of when, and how much. -- "HARD WORK BEATS TALENT WHEN TALENT FAILS TO WORK HARD." -- ※ 發信站: 批踢踢實業坊(ptt.cc) ◆ From: 122.117.20.246
