MADONNA COOKS UP NEW SINGLE
MADONNA has confirmed her new single will be a cover of DON McCLEAN'S
'American Pie' - with actor RUPERT EVERETT on backing vocals.
It'll be released through Warners on February 28 and is described by
her spokesperson as "not as folky-dolky as the original, but not a
million miles away".
It features on the soundtrack of her forthcoming movie 'The Next Big
Thing', in which Madonna stars with Rupert Everett. Two other new
Madonna songs also feature on the soundtrack of the film, which is due
out in the UK in April.
Madonna is also currently recording a new album in the UK with WILLIAM
ORBIT, who she worked with on her last album 'Ray Of Light'. Dance
producer/DJ SACHA is also lending a hand with the album, which is due
for release later this year, Madonna's spokesperson confirmed.
