Buzz Cut For Blake
American heartthrob James Blake shaved his world-famous dreadlocks on December
28 for the sake of charity.
Some of his locks will be auctioned off at this year's Australian Open to help
raise money for a girl's inner-city basketball team in the United States.
Blake showed off his new buzz cut while competing at the Hyundai Hopman Cup in
Australia. "I figure it will be a little cooler and I like changing things up a
lot," he said. "I was amazed that I let it go for three years, but now it's
gone. I'll try to find something else that's fun."
Blake said the transformation took only about 15 minutes. "I think everyone
else thought it was a bigger deal than I did," he said. "My roommates were
watching me, and they were in shock and they couldn't believe I was doing it.
I've done it a million times before, just cutting my hair ?it's not that tough.
