Ryan Thompson to attend veterans camp

Looks like Butler's Gordon Hayward won't be the only swingman from a
mid-major basketball program to participate in the Utah Jazz's camp this
fall.. Rider product Ryan Thompson, a 6-foot-6 player who tried out for
the Jazz this summer, posted on his Twitter account Wednesday that he has
accepted an invitation to attend Utah's veterans camp.

The 22-year-old Thompson, the younger brother of Sacramento's Jason Thompson,
averaged between 15 and 18 points in his final three years at Rider. He only
shot 32.4 percent from 3-point land as a senior, but drained a combined 42.9
percent from long range as a sophomore and junior.

Thompson, ranked as the 24th best small forward in 2010 by DraftExpress.com,
went undrafted in June and then participated with the Kings' summer-league
team in Las Vegas. He also received an invitation to attend Sacramento's fall
camp, according to Sactownroyalty.com.
