想射不要忍

Houston - Kyle Korver was laughing when he told the story, which tells you
all you need to know about what eventually happened Monday night.

ΚΚ在說起今晚比賽最後戲劇性的那一刻時滿臉淫笑。

With a chance to deliver the clinching basket in the last half-minute Game 2
of this first-round playoff series, Korver launched a baseline shot that hit
nothing but . . . the side of the backboard.

比賽最後半分鐘，關鍵性的一擊交到他手上，
ΚΚ二話不說，球應聲.........打到了籃板的邊框上。

"Kind of embarrassing," he said, with a smile that was almost mischievous.

「唉唷～再說人家都要臉紅了哪～」
試圖用帥氣笑容掩飾尷尬的ΚΚ說。

That's because Andrei Kirilenko's rebound gave Korver another opportunity,
and his floating shot that barely beat the shot clock absolutely destroyed
the Houston Rockets.

幸好ΑΚ抓來的籃板又給了他一次機會，
這回他趕緊在計時結束前單手將球拋出，
沒想到竟然進了！！！

就是這一球，讓火箭徹底崩潰。

"A killer," was Tracy McGrady's description of the shot that basically
wrapped up the Jazz's 90-84 victory - and this series, if the Jazz's
home-court domination of the last few months translates into playoff success.

「好大一刀。」這是踢妹可賽後對這球的評語。

它不僅確保了阿爵的第二場勝利，
更可能將阿爵更迅速地推上晉級之路，
呃，假如他們季後賽主場還能像季賽時那麼威的話。

And it was just the kind of play the Jazz kept making in these two games in
Houston, every time the Rockets showed signs of overtaking them and turning
this series into a genuine competition. It was a riveting fourth period, with
the Jazz going up by four, down by three, then back and forth repeatedly,
then up by five before missing a few chances to knock out the Rockets.
Finally, Korver did it with his only basket of the game, after Kirilenko's
play that offset his own 1-for-8 shooting night.

這些刀招並非只是曇花一現，
幾次好不容易火箭氣勢來了的時候，

The Rockets will spend the next couple of days wondering about Luis Scola's
off-the-ball foul that took away a tying three-pointer in the last minute.
"All that stuff that went on in the game," said coach Rick Adelman, "[and]
you're going to make that call at that time?"

火箭大概有幾天都要惦記著那個吹四克拉推人的致命判決，
讓芭比一顆原本可以追平比分的三分球硬生生被收了回去。

「你是沒看到大家之前摔來摔去摔得很開心喔，」愛得慢不平道，
「你有必要非得在這時候吹一個這麼要命的判決嗎？呴～人家不來了啦～」

Then again, the Jazz would have walked away with their own thoughts about
missed opportunities, before Korver came through.

不過說實在，要不是有幸運星，
阿爵整場也沒爽到哪裡去好唄？

As it was, the Jazz team that struggled on the road throughout the regular
season stood up to everything the Rockets threw at them in a desperate
situation.

這些昔日客場小孬孬，原本被唱衰會客死異鄉，
沒想到進了休士頓城的他們竟是披著羊皮的狼。

While they waited a year for another playoff opportunity, the Rockets are
still waiting to win a game in this series.

等了一年才盼到復仇機會的火箭，
現在恐怕要先想想怎麼贏個一場比較實際。

The organization's theme for the season is "It's Time." Previewing the
series, the Houston Chronicle framed it as "History in the Remaking." The
Spanish-language Rumbo featured McGrady on the cover with "La Hora de T-Mac."

原本火箭滿懷信心高舉『時候到啦！』(It's Time.)的大旗，
當地報紙除了以『歷史即將改變』為標語大肆讚揚，
另一家西班牙文報紙甚至還在封面上寫著『麥迪時間』哩！

註：La Hora de T-Mac = The Hour of T-Mac

By the look of things Monday night, the Rockets are definitely running out of
time. History is repeating. This is not T-Mac's hour.

呃，不過從現在的結果看起來，
火箭不但沒有準備好了，
歷史似乎也正在重演，
而踢妹可不久之後恐怕又要哭哭了。

It sure wasn't his finest 12 minutes Monday. He entered the fourth quarter
with 22 points, 10 rebounds and nine assists and exited with 23 points, 13
rebounds and nine assists.

最後十二分鐘，踢妹又一次化做一縷輕煙，
前三節明明有22分10籃板9助攻表現的他，
打完整場卻只多了1分3籃板。

Believe me, the math is being done in Houston.

人算不如天算，
有買大三元彩券的捧油都粉失望。

The backdrop of Game 2 was hardly mysterious: The Rockets would be fighting,
the Jazz would be comfortable.

He was speaking hypothetically before the game, but the way Adelman was using
the present tense was almost eerie.

二戰前夕，愛得慢用現在式講的那些假設性談話，
至今仍然令人費解。

"That does not mean the series is over," he said of a potential Jazz victory,
"it just means they really put our backs to the wall and they've got a lot of
confidence."

「嗯，那並不表示這個系列賽已經結束了，」
怪怪，怎麼比賽還沒打他就在說爵士兩勝的話該怎麼辦，
「那只是表示他們信心十足，而我們快被逼得狗急跳牆啦～」

In that case, he said, "We've got to find some answers real quick."

Having said that, Adelman was convinced the Rockets would recover from their
Game 1 performance. "We've had a pretty good year, and these guys have always
responded," he said. "I expect our guys to respond."

愛得慢相信他的子弟兵可以走出第一戰的陰影，
「別忘了我們有過美好的一季，」
「那時候這些傢伙總會用好表現來回應我，」

The response came, although not immediately. The Jazz started nicely, thanks
to Deron Williams' flurry of three-pointers, and fought off a Houston run in
the second quarter to take a 47-41 lead - the same halftime score as
Saturday's.

第二戰他的傢伙的確是有了反應，
只不過不是馬上。

一開賽作客的阿爵還是打得不錯，
小胖連續投進三顆三分球尤其令人傻眼，
半場終了，他們還能忍住不崩潰，
以47-41取得領先，恰巧與上一場的中場比數相同。

And that was with Carlos Boozer scoring only two points, amid foul trouble.
In Game 1, the Rockets stormed ahead early in the third quarter, only to
gradually fade away.

In the latest adventure, the Rockets quickly ate up the Jazz's lead, only to
have Ronnie Price's three-pointer at the buzzer restore a 69-67 edge entering
the fourth quarter, when the Jazz took over at just the right time.

跟第一場一樣，火箭在第三節展開強力反撲，
眼看著阿爵的崩潰時刻即將開始倒數讀秒，
普萊斯忽地殺出來了一記壓哨三分，
反倒讓阿爵以兩分領先進入第四節。

想射不要忍，這就是爵隊最後一擊的精義啊～

For the Rockets, clearly, this is not their time.

現在看起來，恐怕不是休士頓的『時候到了！』
而是—『老爺，您的時辰到喇～～～』
