SALT LAKE CITY --
Dennis Haslam,
president of the Utah Jazz and the Larry H. Miller Sports &
Entertainment Group of Companies, said Wednesday he is stepping down after
10 years to pursue other interests.
He will be succeeded by
Randy Rigby, senior vice president of sales and
broadcasting and chief marketing officer, who has been with the Jazz for
21 years.
Rigby has been responsible for Jazz and Salt Lake Bees broadcasting. He also
is general manager of KJZZ-TV.
"I am excited to take the reins of a well-established group of companies,"
Rigby said in a statement.
The changes will occur this week.
"I look forward to continuing to be a part of the group as a consultant while
pursuing outside interests," Haslam said.
Besides the Jazz, Miller's sports and entertainment properties include the
Bees, a baseball team in the Triple-A Pacific Coast League; EnergySolutions
Arena; Fanzz retail apparel stores; All-Star Catering; Megaplex Theatres; The
Mayan; Jordan Commons; KJZZ-TV and LHM Advertising. He also is a car dealer.
The Jazz reached the Western Conference finals last season, losing to the
champion San Antonio Spurs.
