Jerry Sloan has been a major contributor to the overall success of the Utah
Jazz, but I believe it's time for the Jazz to seek a new direction in order
to return to the glory era of years past.

Sloan has been heralded as a "defensive wizard." That may have been the case
when fouls were whistled for illegal defenses and when man-to-man defenses
were the norm. Now the whole strategy of the game has changed, and the Jazz
must react in kind if it is to survive.

史隆過去被稱作"防守奇才". 但那是有非法防守吹判時的事了, 那時候聯盟以人
盯人防守為主. 現今球賽的策略已經有所改變, 如果這是生存法則, 爵士一定得
有所因應.

The Jazz are too good to have missed the playoffs. Larry Miller has invested
millions of dollars to bring top-caliber talent to Utah. It's the coach's
responsibility to ensure that the team is up for the game. If any of the
starters aren't ready to play, Sloan should bench them for someone who is
willing to put in the 110 percent effort needed to do the job. Win or lose,
a team shouldn't have to spend the majority of the game playing catch-up
basketball.

爵士的陣容不該沒打入季後賽. 拉瑞米勒投資了上百萬元打造出最好程度的猶他.
教練有責任去擔保球隊能夠向上提升. 如果任何一位先發球員尚未準備好上場比
賽, 教練應該讓他坐板凳, 換上那些愿意奉獻110%努力去做好他們工作的人. 無
論勝敗, 一只球隊不應該花掉比賽大部份時間去玩追逐籃球的游戲.

The Jazz need to go back to basketball 101 to remedy the foul-shooting
problem. Turnovers, futile free-throw shooting and the lack of a three-point
defense are killing the Jazz, and changes must be made to remain competitive.

爵士隊需要回到basketball 101去補救他們的罰球問題, 爛罰球和三分球的不設
防毀掉了爵士, 必須做些改變以維持競爭力.

If the game is evolving faster than Sloan can keep up with, perhaps it's time
for him to move on -- to the front office?

如果球賽的發展速度讓史隆無法趕上, 也許是時候讓他換個環境 -- 到制服組去?
