針對小老闆跟馬龍的發言風波，Sloan稍早也發表了聲明：

"I would like to set the record straight regarding my retirement from the
Utah Jazz," he said. "I had the unwavering support of the Miller family
during my 23 seasons as head coach with the franchise and I left on my own
volition. It is not true that the Millers undermined my authority as head
coach. I had their complete backing to run the team as I wished and was
assured that no player could ever overrule my decisions."

(簡譯) 米勒家族在我執教的23年間始終給予支持，離開是出自個人意願，
那些說米勒家族削減了我做為教練權力的說法都是錯誤的，
而且並沒有球員能夠否決我在場上的決定。

"The Millers encouraged me to stay with the team and gave me multiple
opportunities to do so. They felt strongly that I should wait at least until
the end of the season to resign and did everything they could to keep me
coaching."

米勒家族多次表達留下我的意願，希望我至少等球季結束再考慮辭職，
他們已經做了一切他們所能做的來挽留我。

"I do not wish to make any further statements regarding this issue. It is
time for me and my family to move on and I ask that the media respect my
wishes and respect the integrity of the Miller family and all that they have
done for the Utah Jazz and this community."

希望這是我對這個議題最後一次發表聲明，
希望媒體可以尊重我與我的家人，以及米勒家族對球隊所付出的心力。
