回來當播音員啦 哭哭 Harpring to join Jazz broadcast team By Jody Genessy Deseret News SALT LAKE CITY — Matt Harpring will return to the Utah Jazz next season — Matt Harpring the broadcaster, that is. As he did last season while injured, Harpring will provide color commentary for the team's TV telecasts alongside play-by-play announcer Craig Bolerjack in 2010-11, multiple sources close to the Jazz have confirmed to the Deseret News. Harpring will not necessarily take a full-time role but will "be working on the broadcast team in some capacity," one source claimed. The details of Harpring's assignment, arrangement and the number of games he'll work are still being hammered out between his camp and the Jazz. The team plans on announcing specifics of the hiring and other game-night lineups closer to the beginning of the season. Longtime commentator Ron Boone will also continue to work with the Jazz broadcast team, though his specific role has yet to be determined. It's possible Boone could make some appearances on the radio with play-by-play voice David Locke. Harpring's appearances on Jazz broadcasts — highlighted by his insider viewpoint and analysis — were well-received by fans and the organization last season. He also did occasional studio analysis work for NBA-TV. "People really like him," one source said. A Jazz spokesman said the organization had no comment on the broadcast situation. Likewise, Harpring was unavailable for a comment on Wednesday. It's believed Harpring will remain living in Georgia and will travel to do the Jazz broadcasts, allowing his wife, Dr. Amanda Harpring, to continue to work for an Atlanta-based medical practice. Harpring told the Deseret News at his Murray camp in July that he had been approached by multiple suitors, including networks and college and pro teams, after his stints with Jazz TV and NBA-TV. He also claimed to prefer providing commentary over being in the studio. "I love doing the color. ... You're involved in the game," Harpring said in July. "You feel like you're a part of it. You get the emotions, you get the ups and the downs, the adrenaline. It's the next best thing to playing without playing." Harpring played for the Jazz from 2002-09 and was known for his tough, gritty style an no-nonsense attitude. Injuries forced him to sit out last season, and his player contract was eventually traded to Oklahoma City to give Utah some financial relief. -- ※ 發信站: 批踢踢實業坊(ptt.cc) ◆ From: 140.112.110.3
