  Two Jazz players cited for allegedly lying to police in altercation

      Utah Jazz players Robert Whaley and Deron Williams were issued class C
    misdemeanor citations Wednesday for allegedly lying to police about their
    identities following a scuffle at a Park City club over the weekend.

      猶他爵士隊球員Whaley和Williams因為在一場於公園市發生的衝突之後向警方做
    不當陳述(報假名)，而於星期三被控C級輕罪。

      The incident occurred about 1:15 a.m. Sunday at Harry O's, 427 S. Main.
    A 29-year-old man from Boulder, Colo., had apparently picked a fight with
    both men inside the club, said Park City police Lt. Rick Ryan.

      公園市警察瑞克‧萊恩說，這場衝突發生於星期天清晨約一點十五分，一名來自
    科羅拉多州包德郡的29歲男子，向兩名爵士隊員挑起一場鬥毆。

      The man, an avid Denver Nuggets fan, apparently was very vocal in
    expressing his dislike for the Utah Jazz, Ryan said. The argument became
    heated and at one point the man allegedly threw a beer bottle, striking
    and fracturing a club employee's arm, he said.

      萊恩說這名男子是一名狂熱的金塊球迷，在酒吧裡大聲叫囂說他有多討厭爵士隊
    ，口頭爭論隨即加溫，這名男子丟了一個啤酒瓶，打傷了一名酒吧雇員的手。

      At some point during the confrontation, Whaley cut his hand on either
    a broken glass or bottle. Details of how that happened were still unclear
    Wednesday, but Ryan said the broken glass was not used as a weapon by the
    Nuggets fan.

      差不多同時，Whaley的手被玻璃碎片或酒瓶碎片割傷，詳細的狀況目前還不清楚

      The Jazz players, the man and others were thrown out of the club, where
    they continued their scuffle in the street.

      When officers arrived, they found seven people "in the middle of Main
    Street yelling at each other, gesturing at each other and throwing
    garbage cans," Ryan said.

      萊恩說當警方到達時，他們看到七名男子在街上互相叫囂，擺出要幹架的姿態並
    且向對方丟擲垃圾桶。

      Officers questioned those involved in the altercation, but Whaley and
    Williams allegedly gave them false names.

      警方隨即盤問這些人，不過Whaley和Williams此時卻報上假名。

      "They used fictitious names and dates of birth when the officers asked
    for information," Ryan said.

      萊恩說：「當警方訊問時，他們給警方虛構的姓名和出生日期。」

      However, while they were sorting out the details, one of the officers
    overheard one of the players tell someone that he did indeed play for the
    Jazz. When the officer returned to his office, he pulled up the Utah Jazz
    Web site on his computer and was able to identify two of those allegedly
    involved in the incident, Ryan said.

      不過在偵訊途中一名警方發現一名球員曾向對方叫囂說他在爵士隊打球，因此當
    這名警官回到辦公室後他打開爵士官網，並指認出兩名參與衝突的爵士隊員。

      The officer contacted the Jazz organization about what happened.
    Wednesday morning, Whaley and Williams, along with a couple of other Jazz
    representatives, voluntarily showed up at the Park City Police Department
    to take care of the matter.

      警方隨即和爵士球團聯絡。星期三早上Whaley、Williams和兩名爵士官方人員自
    動來到公園市警局了解案情。

      The players were interviewed by police, cited and then released.

      兩名球員被警方盤問後釋放。

      The 29-year-old Colorado man was arrested for investigation of assault.
    Ryan said the investigation was continuing and additional witnesses
    needed to be interviewed. He said there could be additional charges
    against others but he did not believe there would be any further action
    against the Jazz players.

      那名29歲的金塊迷已被逮捕並接受偵訊，萊恩說偵查還在繼續中，他們還需要傳
    喚更多的目擊證人，他說這名金塊迷可能還涉及另一場鬥毆，不過他相信這跟爵士
    球員無關了。

      In fact, he said, the Jazz players would have probably just walked
    free if they had simply told the truth.

      事實上萊恩說，如果爵士球員當時說出實情的話，當下大概就可以走人了。

      "This all could have been avoided if they told the truth," Ryan said.
    "We wouldn't have been dealing with it on this level if they hadn't lied
    to the officers."

      「如果他們老實說的話這一切都可以避免的，如果他們沒有欺騙警察的話這種程
    度的事件我們通常不處理。」萊恩說。
