Utah Jazz: Collins awaits a tall order

Even though he's fallen out of the Jazz rotation in recent weeks, Jarron
Collins isn't ready to call this the toughest season of the seven he's played
in Utah.
雖然近幾週跌出了爵士的輪替陣容，

"Every season has its own challenges," Collins said. "This season is no
different."

Collins had played in 139 consecutive games before the streak came to an end
last month. So far in February, Collins has played a total of 21 minutes in
eight games and hasn't scored since a Jan. 21 game against the L.A. Clippers.
柯林斯原本連續139場的出賽紀錄已於上個月終止，
從那之後，他只在八場比賽中上場了21分鐘，
不過從1/21對快艇的比賽後就沒再有任何分數進帳的囧。
"Of course, I would like to play," Collins said. "I'm a basketball player. I
have a passion for the game and I'd love to get back in the rotation. That's
not for me [to decide]. I just do what I can do to prepare myself for the
opportunity when given and try to make the most of it."

Jazz coach Jerry Sloan increasingly has turned to forward Paul Millsap to
back up both Mehmet Okur and Carlos Boozer. With more teams using small
lineups, Sloan has had less use for a center like Collins.

也由於聯盟中的小號球隊變多，中鋒如杰倫者上場機會減少許多。
"Jarron's been here long enough to know that there's some times he plays,
some times he doesn't play," Sloan said. "We haven't forgotten about him.
That's the thing that I'm sure he's concerned about, as every player is. But
that's the nature of this business."

Collins also has a keen interest in what the Jazz do heading into Thursday's
trade deadline. Jazz general manager Kevin O'Connor has identified the team's
greatest need as adding a shot-blocking big man who could come off the bench.

If the Jazz could acquire such a player - both an NBA general manager and a
prominent player agent said Tuesday they'd heard little chatter involving
Utah - Collins would seemingly slip further on the depth chart.

"Kevin has to do what he thinks is in the best interest of the team,"
Collins said. "I understand this is a business and whatever happens, happens
in the next two days."

At the same time, Collins could be thrust back into the lineup in the
playoffs if the Jazz must contend with centers like Yao Ming, Tim Duncan or
Shaquille O'Neal.
不管怎樣，唯一可以肯定的一點是，
要是爵士得在季後賽對上姚天子、叮噹肯或大鯊魚之流，
肯定會將我們的杰倫送上去當砲灰。

乏人問津
As a result of the one-year qualifying offer he signed in October, guard C.J.
Miles cannot be traded without his consent. So far, nobody has even gauged
Miles' interest in a potential deal.
由於保證合約的緣故，要交易西街得先經過他同意才行。

"Just like I've been, just working," Miles said. "Nobody's said anything to
me about it. If they say something, I guess it's got to be discussed, but at
the same time I don't think it is. Not that I know of."

An announcing crew from NTV Plus was on hand to broadcast Tuesday's game back
to Andrei Kirilenko's fans in Russia. The announcers from the pay sports
channel were in New Orleans for the All-Star Game, then headed to Utah to
catch up with Kirilenko. After Viktor Khryapa was bought out of his contract
by Chicago earlier this month, Kirilenko is the lone Russian playing in the
NBA. "At least I know Utah Jazz is most favorite team in Russia," Kirilenko
said. "A hundred percent."
俄羅斯電視台週二夜晚也在現場同步轉播了勇士對爵士的比賽，
工作人員是在明星賽後由紐奧良直接開拔至鹽湖城。
在本月初Khryapa被公牛裁員之後，
AK47成為NBA碩果僅存的俄羅斯球員。
「就我所知，爵士是俄羅斯境內最受歡迎的NBA球隊。」
AK47驕傲地說：「這是一定要的啦！」
