Utah Jazz: Second opinion -- Williams out four to six weeks

Deron Williams went for a second opinion Thursday on his sprained left ankle
and learned that his timetable for returning would be four to six weeks as
opposed to the minimum two weeks that the Jazz originally set after the Oct.
18 injury.

"They just said two weeks because they knew I didn't want to hear four to six
weeks, probably," Williams said at Friday's pregame shootaround. "Dr. [Lyle]
Mason knows me. Now I wish they would have, so I wouldn't have got my hopes
up."

 Williams said he believed he was "ahead of schedule" as far as his recovery,
but his availability for the Jazz's upcoming five-game road trip is far from
certain. If he did miss four weeks, Williams wouldn't play until after the
Jazz return home.

其實人家的復原進度還是提前的 好不?

Williams said he would like to get in a full practice before playing for the
first time. The Jazz won't have the opportunity before Sunday's game at New
York and will play four games in five nights after that to finish the trip.

The two sets of back-to-back games are far from ideal for a player returning
from injury, which led Williams to suggest that he would "maybe do the Matt
Harpring and play one of them."

Williams said the doctor who gave him the second opinion reexamined his
original MRI exam results. He did not know if he suffered a more severe
sprain than what was initially believed

Although he is making progress, Williams said he was still feeling pain and
discomfort, especially when he tried to make spin moves. "I wouldn't want to
put myself in that position right now to be hurt," he said.

With the Jazz opening 4-0, there is little pressure for Williams to rush
back before he is fully healed. "I think we have a couple more winnable ball
games without me."
