Okur: Out of intermission, on a mission

In last season's NBA playoffs against superstar centers like Houston's Yao
Ming and San Antonio's Tim Duncan, Utah's Mehmet Okur sacrificed his
offensive game to try to contain those big threats as much as he could. He
was criticized for not scoring the way he had earlier in the year, for simply
trying to defend the stars.

上季季後接連遇上姚明與鄧肯這兩個大個兒，
讓歐庫光是防守就把他吃奶的力氣給用盡了，
遠不及常規賽犀利的進攻更是讓他飽受非難。

Friday night against Duncan and the Spurs in EnergySolutions Arena on a
national ESPN broadcast, Okur not only did a commendable job playing against
Duncan — Carlos Boozer took his turns against Duncan, too — but Okur also
was the Jazz's leading scorer with 17 points, their leading rebounder with 16
and the one who sparked a third-quarter run with an all-around game that led
Utah to a 90-64 victory.

然而這回的全國轉播，歐庫與布瑟的聯防不僅令鄧肯吃盡苦頭，
歐庫領先全隊17分16籃板的表現，更是阿爵能在第三節大幅拉開比數，
最終更讓馬刺苦吞隊史最低分敗仗的最大功臣。

It was the second game in a row that Okur came out after intermission on a
mission.

這是連續第二場歐庫在中場休息過後出現潮吹的情形。

Wednesday at home against Minnesota, Okur scored 10 straight Jazz points
early in the second half, had 13 points for the third quarter and hit three
3-pointers in the period in a 97-89 Jazz win in a game that was close at the
half.

在前一場屠殺灰狼的比賽中，
歐庫第三節開始連得10分，
並且投進三顆三分球，
讓阿爵得以擺脫狼群的糾纏，最終大勝17分。

Friday, Okur had three baskets, three rebounds and two steals in the first
seven minutes of the third quarter as Utah went from a 40-38 lead to a
nine-point advantage. He missed one shot, then was replaced in the lineup for
a rest until the fourth quarter, when he pulled down five rebounds in the
first seven minutes as Utah's lead continued to grow.

對馬刺這場，歐庫同樣在第三節開始的前七分鐘，
投進三球、搶下三個籃板，還抄了兩次球，
使阿爵從僅僅兩分的領先一舉拉開到九分，
第四節前七分鐘他又接連拉下五個籃板，確保了阿爵的勝利。

"Still hot. Don't touch me," he jokingly said as he reached into his locker
before turning around to face the cameras after the game.

「喂，還燙著呢，別碰我！」
賽後正走向休息室的歐庫回頭這麼對鏡頭說道。

"I learned my lesson last year, especially from the playoffs, on the
offensive end," he said. "I wasn't able to score. (Friday) I was really
active on the defensive ends and on the rebounds, so I learned my lesson."

「就別再拿去年季後賽屢投不進的事兒來糗人家了啦，呴～」
歐庫嬌嗔：「這場比賽人家可是很積極地在防守跟搶籃板捏～」

He said the lesson was to "stay focused, stay hungry, don't give up."

他說他的訣竅就是『保持專注、保持渴望、永不放棄』。

It was also to play with big energy.

噢，多喝點開特力也是很重要的。

"After a couple minutes, I was more focused on the defensive end, and now I
am able to play same level basketball offensive and defensive end."

「現在我的進攻跟防守可是都提升到同一個等級了，呼呼～」

Against Duncan, who averaged 19.5 points and 11.5 rebounds coming into the
game at Utah, Okur said he mainly tried to keep him off his favored block
"and make him make tough shots over my hands and grab the rebounds. Not only
me, my teammates did such a great job — they really help me on the block."

在論及怎麼對付鄧肯這個大明星時，
歐庫說他努力試著不讓鄧肯佔到有利位置，
同時不給他輕易出手與搶板的機會，
「不只是我啦，隊友們也都防他防得很好，所以我才能在禁區這麼活躍。」

Duncan finished with 15 points on 5-for-12 shooting, 10 boards, three
turnovers and three blocked shots while playing only 26 minutes.

鄧肯最後只打了26分鐘，拿下15分10籃板3火鍋，
不過他的命中率只有12投5中，而且還有3次失誤。

Meanwhile, Okur was making 7-of-12 shots, 3-for-5 on 3s, and giving the kind
of offensive lift that wasn't there in last season's playoffs.

歐庫的命中率則是12投7中，包含5投3中的三分球，
這跟他去年季後賽的表現分明是兩個人。

He said there was no plan for the team's offense to go to him to open the
second half. "We tried to take what they give us. We really execute the ball,
especially Deron (Williams), he was drive inside and create open shots for
us," Okur said.

他說原本下半場一開始並不是計畫以他為攻擊重心的，
「我們只想以牙還牙跟好好地執行戰術，」歐庫提到，
「不得不稱讚一下那輛小坦克，每回他開進去我就在外面涼涼啊等丟厚啦！」

"I feel good now," he added, talking about the shoulder and toe problems that
slowed him earlier this season, "and I try to give my 100-A game night in and
night out right now before the playoffs start. I try to get used to it on
defensive and offensive end before the playoffs start."

「安哪，我健康跟受傷都跑得一樣慢哪，」在被問到之前傷勢時歐庫回答，
「在這季後賽的前戲，我只想要每次都考100分，管他攻還是守咧！」
