AK不去鳳凰城曬太陽

Andrei Kirilenko didn't mince words in describing what it was like to watch a
replay of the flagrant foul from Monday's game that left him with a sprained
right hip and Dallas' Dirk Nowitzki with a one-game suspension from the NBA
office.

"It looked nasty," Kirilenko said. "Probably the falling down wasn't too bad,
but like the grabbing of the neck was not good."

Kirilenko missed the Jazz's victory Wednesday over Minnesota and said he
would not travel for Friday's game at Phoenix. He arrived at EnergySolutions
Arena walking with the assistance of a crutch and spoke for the first time
about the Nowitzki foul.

"I feel like my leg went one way, my body the other way," Kirilenko said,
"and I feel like very sharp pain in the groin."

The league suspended Nowitzki from today's game against Houston, which will
cost the league MVP $148,728 in lost pay. The flagrant foul also was upgraded
from first-degree to second-degree, the distinction being contact deemed
"unnecessary and excessive."

Kirilenko suffered the injury when he was taken down by Nowitzki with 7:04
left in the first quarter of Monday's victory over Dallas. Nowitzki went up
trying to avoid conceding a layup to Kirilenko and wound up pulling him hard
to the floor.

But Kirilenko also made clear that he would have wrapped up a player in a
bear hug in a similar situation. "I wouldn't do that like that," Kirilenko
said. "I would probably grab it and kind of just hold it, but anyway, it
happens."

The foul knocked Kirilenko out of Monday's game and sent him to the hospital
for X-rays. Jazz coach Jerry Sloan on Wednesday called the situation
"unfortunate" and said both the Jazz and Mavericks stood to lose with key
players out.

AK當天受傷後立即退場，並送到醫院做進一步診斷。

"The bottom line is that's what it is and everybody has to live with it,"
Sloan said. "We have to live with the fact that he's not playing and they

C.J. Miles started in Kirilenko's place, reprising a familiar role in which
the 20-year-old has gone from the team's 11th man to the starting five.

Miles was asked at the Jazz's pregame shootaround if he might have the
strangest job in the NBA. He finished with nine points and played 26 minutes
against Minnesota.

"Of course, I feel that way sometimes," Miles said, adding, "It's a different
situation than what I'm used to. I've kind of come to a point where I can get
a medium where I can stay in good shape and be ready to still play before
games with workouts and stuff like that.

"It's different, but whatever gets me playing time, I'm not going to complain
about it."
