先補一個網址：

裡面說到若秋季班的學生若要考ESLAT
要在那個日期以及時間到那個地點
大概是能力分班考試，考聽、讀、寫
比TOEFL ibt簡單一點點
至於要修到什麼程度的課才算合格？
聽說只要修過一個學期，讓學校知道你有修過就行了...
不過聽說也只是聽說，因為小弟我第一個學期沒有修
所以下個學期要跟各位一起修課了....
另外ESL並不是修過才能開始修系上的課
是可以同時修ESL以及修系上的課
小弟如我第一個學期沒有修ESL還是可以修系上的課
只是學期中遇到很多麻煩事，所以還是建議在第一個學期把ESL選入自己的選課裡
以免夜長夢多
至於要選什麼課？等到八月的ESLAT之後才會跟你說要修什麼課
ESL是不算在畢業學分，但是還是要繳學分費
依照原PO的描述，暑假期要來上ESL，你的i20准許你入境的日期應該是最近了？
暑假修完，秋天應該就不用修了
暑假若沒有修，秋天就要修(我好像在說廢話)
修完之後應該會有考試，不過我不知道考試不過會不會怎樣@@"
考試跟ESLAT應該是不一樣的東西

請問andy4624大大~~~
您所謂的修過一個學期是他的一個term這樣嗎？
如果我暑假去上ESL的summer program
這樣是否就算完成了一個學期的課程
並且達到了學校要求的條件入學標準？
這樣學校也會知道我有修過語文課程
考那個試是不是對我的正式入學及上課就沒有影響了？

As far as I remember, student only gets credit/non-credit for ESL courses, and
it's "extremely" hard for Taiwanese student to fail (unless you deliberately
skip the class). The compeletion of ESL program should then satisfy all
the language requirement for Law School. The test in the end of August is
supposed to be only for record. HOWEVER, I am not 100% sure. I will ask my
classmate and tell you later.

ESLAT English As a Second Language Assessment Test
Students are placed in ESL courses on the basis of an initial
placement test, the UW- ESL Assessment Test (ESLAT). The
ESLAT consists of these parts: a listening test assessing
listening comprehension of informal speech and lectures; and a
reading/writing test requiring you to read a passage, write a
summary of it, and then write an essay commenting on the passage.
Spring 2008 test dates:
Monday, January 14 at 9:00 a.m. Room 1111 Humanities
Wednesday, January 16 at 9:00 a.m. Room 1111 Humanities
Fall 2008 test dates:
Monday, August 25 at 9:00 a.m. Room 105 Psychology
Wednesday, August 27 at 9:00 a.m. Room 105 Psychology
Students do not need to pre-register for the test.
Go to the test room at the time indicated. However, students MUST bring
their student identification number and a form of photo ID
(passport, UW student ID card, etc.) to the exam.
The English as a Second Language Assessment Test is required
of many new graduate and undergraduate students. The purpose
of this test is to assess the English language skills required for
academic work and to place the student in the appropriate
ESL course.
It is difficult to prepare specifically for this test. You should do
everything you can to increase your ability to understand spoken
English, to read as much as possible, and to practice writing clearly
and accurately. The test consists of two parts. The first part is a
multiple-choice listening test. Students will listen to one-line statements
and choose a response or a paraphrase. The test continues with short
dialogues or lectures on either general or academic topics.
The second part of the test is a reading/writing test. Students read a
passage of 600 to 800 words and are asked to summarize the passage
and respond to it in a short essay. Fifty minutes are allowed for the
reading/writing section of the test.

剛剛又查看一次 發現很多課的時段都滿了
所以假如已經考完 但是還沒拿成績單
或者還沒考的 請趕快拿成績單選課吧 囧.........
