我講一下我知道的 不過我也有不清楚的地方
1. 非學期期間(eg: 寒暑假), 可以透過 CPT 到校外公司行號打工
2. 學期間有緊急的財務危機, 經校方同意可以在校外打工
3. RA 可以是產學合作的方式, 最多可以有 50% 的時間在合作的公司內
作 research assistant (eg: RA 是老闆與外面的公司談計畫時)

以下資訊來自 ISS 的 F-1 work 表單:
Off-campus Employment
If you have been in valid F-1 status for a full academic year, you have
several options for working off-campus:
1. Curricular Practical Training (CPT):
This program is defined as alternate work/study, internship, cooperative
education, or any other type of required internship that sponsoring
employers offer through cooperative agreements with the university. You
will need authorization from ISS for this type of practical training.
If you are authorized for one year or more of full-time Curricular Practical
Taining, you will not be eligible for post-degree Optional Practical Training.
2. Optional Practical Training(OPT):
This program allows you to accept employment in your field of study, part
or full-time. The total amount of time that you can work under optional
practical training is 12 months, full-time. OPT may be done during specific
times before you graduate, or after you gradate. Student jobs (PA,TA or RA)
do not qualify as jobs for Optional Practical Training.
To be authorized for Optional Practical Training, ISS recommands you apply
several months in advance of your proposed employment. USCIS must receive
your applicaiton prior to your degree completion. You will need a
recommendation from ISS and authorization from USCIS for OPT. Allow ISS
at least ten working days to determine eligibility and prepare its
recommendation and school certification portion, before sending your
application to USCIS to obtain the Employment Authorization Document
(EAD card)
3. Off-campus work due to serious economic necessity:
The US Citizenship and Immigration Services(USCIS) can authorize this kind
of work permission when a student has fully documented severe economic
hardship arising after arrival in the US or changing to F-1 status. This
option requires our office to verify that employment on-campus is not
available or sufficient.

簡單歸類
畢業後-> OPT
畢業前
1.校內工作->不需CPT or OPT
2.校外工作
a.寒暑假->使用CPT,可以做到40hr/week
b.學期間->使用CPT,有每週工作上限(應該是20hr/week)
要注意的是,使用CPT工作的時間,若超過一年,則無法使用OPT
如果你不是STEM領域,OPT只有一年
