Meanwhile, Valencia have agreed to send John Carew on loan to the Stadio
Olimpico for this season.

The giant Norwegian striker arrives with an option to buy outright at the
end of the season.

"As soon as I knew Roma were interested,” he told Norwegian newspaper
‘VG,“it was a very easy decision to make.”

“Roma are a big club and Serie A is a wonderful League to play in. I am
also happy with the personal terms.”

Valencia have confirmed they are considering Roma’s bid for Norwegian
hitman John Carew, while Walter Samuel extends his contract.

“We have received several offers for John,” revealed club President
Jaime Orti, “but Roma’s is head and shoulders above the rest.”

The 23-year-old striker is also a known target for Glasgow Rangers and
Everton following his spell in Spain.

Carew would fit the bill for Fabio Capello’s strike force, as he is very
tall and can make the most of assists from Antonio Cassano and Francesco
Totti.
