關於之前說過Eunice參加的宣教計畫
這篇"update"有點久了 但還是要放上來
就沒翻譯囉 大家加油油~
-------------------------------------------------------------
Hello friends!
First of all, I would like to say what a blessing it is for me to be surrounded
(and supported by) so many great brothers and sisters! God used your encourage
ments to embolden my faith and to continue to confirm with me that He indeed
called me to serve in East Asia this summer. The support-raising process has
always been the most faith-stretching for me. I wasn't sure whether I'd be able
to meet my support goal of $4800 (and get people to pray for me) because I do
not really have a home church/congregation to support me and needed to raise
support by solely contacting individuals. But once again, God showed me how
faithful He is, and how true Ephesians 3:20 is in our lives--that God always
work in our lives in ways that are immeasurably more than we can ask or imagine
, whether through trials or victories. I have reached my support goal! So,
thank you, for supporting me and our team this summer. I know that God is going
to use your prayers immensely, because I have seen the wonderful results of
prayers when I was in East Asia in 2008.
I would like to share with you the ways that God's been preparing my heart and
our team for this trip. I am leading the team with two Campus Crusade for
Christ staff members, one of whom I befriended in college. For the past 2 and
a half months, we've been planning out (along with the staff in East Asia) the
logistics and eveything else for this trip. Our vision for this summer project
is "Lives transformed to see and carry out God's heart for the world." Our
mission is to:
1) Take steps of faith/risks and leave the results to God, 2) win, build, and
send new believers into the world, and 3) have the students participating in
our project understand our cultures, identities, and purposes in Christ. We
believe that God will change and transform the hearts of the students on our
team and the students in East Asia through this trip; as a result, we will
never be the same again and will be able to live for God in ways we've never
thought we could. I am elated that you are joining us in this vision and
mission!
In my own quiet times, God has been using passages from the book of Exodus to
give me a clearer vision of His promises for us:
"The Lord had made the Egyptians favorably disposed toward the people, and they
gave them what they asked for." -Exodus 12:3b
"When Pharoah let the people go, God did not lead them on the road through the
Philistine country, though that was shorter. For God said, 'If they face war,
they might change their minds and return to Egypt.' So God led the people
around by the desert road toward the Red Sea." -Exodus 13:17-18a
"By day the Lord went ahead of them in a pillar of cloud to guide them on their
way and by night in a pillar of fire to give them light, so they could travel
by day or night. Neither the pillar of cloud by day nor the pillar of fire by
night left its place in front of the people." -Exodus 13:21-22
God used these verses to remind me that He has already gone before us to East
Asia and prepared people's hearts. God is sovereign and can change hearts, as
we can see in Exodus 12:3b. Our team will be dealing with university faculty
and personnel, and God will change their hearts and open doors for us (because
university faculty can potentially open and close a lot of doors). Even when
dealing with the local students, God will be able to make them "favorably
disposed" towards us and want to listen to what we have to share.
Exodus 13:17-18a really shed light on how much God loves us. Sometimes in life,
He lead us along the longer and seemingly harder paths because He knows that's
the best for us. As our team prepares for this trip, we might face a lot of
difficulties, frustrations, and anxiety (we already have as team leaders)--but
God knows that through those, He can show us His glory and love for us even
more. Last but not least, God will never leave nor forsake us, like the pillar
of cloud and fire. With God's presence and guidance, we will be able to
navigate through any circumstance (because we still don't know exactly what to
expect when we get to our city in East Asia--this trip is a pioneer missions
trip)
I'm sure by now you've heard about the recent school killings in East Asia. The
news really broke my heart. Imagine losing the greatest hope you have--that's
what happened to many parents who lost their children in the attacks. Since
each couple is only allowed to have one child (with the exception of minority
groups or farmers), many parents place all their hope(s) and invest everything
in their children. I can't imagine how devastated they were when the attacks
happened. I also grieve for the perpetrators, who suffered from so much
injustice and pain that they had to do something so cruel and drastic to others
. Please join me in praying for the victims' & attackers' families and the
corrupted judicial system in East Asia. Please pray that God will heal and
restore them and their nation.
Thank you for taking the time to read what I have to share! As our team
continues to prepare for this summe project, here are some things you can pray
for:
1. That God will continue to provide supporters for the rest of our team (I
think only two people, including me, have raised all the support that's needed)
. And pray that our students will see how much God loves them and how much they
can place their trust in God through this support-raising process.
2. That God will continue to soften and prepare the hearts of the people in
East Asia, so that they will be ready and willing to respond to the gospel when
our team shares with them.
3. That God will draw our students (on our team) closer to Him as the day of
the project draws near. Pray that students will discover a renewed passion for
God so that they will be so excited to share God's love to the students in
East Asia.
4. That all the logistics will work out (plane tickets, visas, immunizations,
in-country travel, in-country communication, etc)
5. That God will place His love for the East Asian people in our hearts and
unify our team as one in the Spirit.
6. That God will continue to prepare my heart and sanctify me for His good work
in East Asia. =)
Please let me know if there's anything I can be praying for you!
Eunice
