"The turning point in the game was when Vince Carter dunked the ball
(over Weis)," said Jason Kidd (Phoenix Suns). "I think everybody was in
awe, and nobody thought he was going to attempt that, but to me that was
the greatest play in basketball I've ever seen."

Q:Have you ever seen a player jump over someone 7-foot-2 and dunk?
Kidd:"For the play, like I said earlier, that's the next coming. Michael
Jordan hasn't done that, nobody's done that. He's going to be the next coming,
Vince Carter. I think everybody sitting here, even myself as a teammate,
enjoyed watching a player like that and him to be so young, he's going to
put people in the seats."

Vince Carter Says：
On his dunk over the top of France's 7-2 (218 CMS) Frederic Weis:
"The most important thing is that we're still keeping our streak, we're
winning and playing well. I'm excited about the win. I'm glad the fans
enjoyed it, but it's one play."


Did you realize how big he was before leaping?
"I don't have time to worry about who's there.
I just put the ball in the hole."

Did it inspire or pump up the team?
"That's what it's all about. The object is to motivate the team itself
more than the fans. The fans can't put points on the board. It seemed like
it got them excited and then we were able to keep a decent lead and that's
what matters."

High jumpers start jumping the bar at around 215 CMS, and Weis is 218 CMS.
Have you ever thought about becoming a high jumper?
"I went to track and field last night and I was telling my mom that I was
itching to do it. I just wanted to try it, just to say I did it. I watched
that event more than anything. I missed a couple of 400s and some qualifying
heats and everything. I was excited, I just wanted to try it. I had the
urge to do it for some reason."
