Carl Thomas grew up in Chicago, where he says, "You're forced to
embrace the cold, and at the same time generate your own warmth."
He succeeds in creating a warm, soulful sound on his debut album
"Emotional", and he shows off his singing, writing and producing
skills. Carl says, "I have a lot going on in my life besides sticking my
head in the studio 24 hours a day. Otherwise, I couldn't write a song
about a lonely man sitting at a bus stop, because I wouldn't be there to
see him, to empathize with him. A good writer needs experience."
