很久以前 因為看了電影梵谷傳
而去買starry starry night 的原唱doN MACLEAN'S CD
I LIKE HIS SONGS A LOT
and the lyrics as well
but I hope to know more about his background
like how he wrote the song:american pie!!

Don McLean是在60年代末開始發跡的
American Pie這一首歌
是以Buddy Holly(搖滾界的名人)墜機死亡做為開始
Buddy的死亡 代表Don心中音樂的死亡(因為當時他非常迷搖滾樂)
隨著節奏的改變 歌詞開始敘述整個60年代他的所見所聞
以及這十年來美國樂壇的變遷與樂迷所帶來的影響與改變
...
這首歌到後來還有大學專門開課來研究它咧
附帶一提 那首Starry Starry Night的歌名叫Vinent
是Don獻給梵谷的名作
另外Roberta Flack的歌Killing Me Softly with His Song
就是Fugees翻唱的Killing Me Softly
是為Don所寫
