NEW YORK (TICKER) —The Chicago White Sox have reached an agreement on a one-year contract with righthander Bartolo Colon, according to multiple reports Wednesday. The 35-year-old Colon, who has battled shoulder and back problems in recent years, will need to complete a physical before the deal is finalized. This will be Colon's second stint with the White Sox after going 15-13 with a 3.87 ERA in a career-high 242 innings with the club in 2003. He signed a four-year, $51 million contract as a free agent with the Anaheim Angels the following offseason and won the Cy Young Award in 2005 before breaking down and undergoing surgery to repair his shoulder. Colon made a total of 28 starts in his last two seasons with Anaheim. The hefty Dominican signed with the Boston Red Sox last spring and went 4-2 with a 3.92 ERA in seven starts, missing time after injuring his back while swinging a bat during interleague play. Colon likely will compete with youngsters Clayton Richard, Jeff Marquez, Lance Broadway and Aaron Poreda for the fourth and fifth spots in Chicago's rotation behind Mark Buehrle, Gavin Floyd and John Danks. -- ※ 發信站: 批踢踢實業坊(ptt.cc) ◆ From: 218.171.145.250
