在今天大威對上Harkleroad的比賽第二盤4*-1 30-0的時候發出了女子大滿貫
也同時是女網會內賽最快的發球
大滿貫女子最快發球紀錄之前是由他的妹妹小威保持
小威在2004溫網第四輪對上Tatiana Golovin曾發出126mph
女網會內賽的最快發球紀錄此前是由大威跟小威共同保持
大威在1998蘇黎世八強對上Mary Pierce時發出127mph
而小威在去年辛辛那提首輪對上Myskina也以127mph追平
不過女網的發球時速紀錄
仍然是由去年在辛辛那提會外賽發出130mph的Brenda Schultz-McCarthy保持
目前大威擁有澳網(2003-125mph).法網(2007-129mph)兩個大滿貫的發球時速紀錄
小威則持有溫網(2004-126mph).美網(2001-125mph)的紀錄

Venus Williams unleashed the fastest serve by a woman at a grand slam as she
kept the Stars and Stripes fluttering at the French Open on Wednesday.
"I loved it. I lost my focus a little bit because I saw the 206," said
Williams, who had let slip a 5-1 lead in the second set.
"I was so excited because I broke my record."

Venus Williams hit the fastest recorded serve in a women's tour main-draw
match, reaching 129 mph at the French Open on Wednesday.
"When I was younger, I was always trying to serve harder and harder, and now
I'm not trying to serve hard. It comes hard," she said. "So it was unexpected."
