Venus Williams Set For A May Return At Brussels

BRUSSELS-- Sidelined since January due to injury, the former WTA Tour world
number one Venus Williams of the USA, is set to rejoin the WTA Tour May 14th
in Brussels, Belgium.
前世界第一Venus Williams自從一月就因傷遠離賽場
他預定在5/14開打的Brussels重新回到WTA的競爭行列
Williams, who this week saw her WTA Tour singles rankings fall from 15 to 9,
has competed in only six WTA Tour tournaments in the past 52 weeks: the four
grand slams plus clay court tournaments last May in Rome and Madrid.

The WTA Tour lists Williams’ total number of tournaments as 14 due to 8

In mid-May after the two clay court tournaments’ points (a finalist and
quarterfinalist finish) fall off her ranking points’ total, Williams’
ranking could tumble to nearly number 30.

The 30 year old Williams, a five time Wimbledon singles champion, suffered a
hip injury while jumping for a lob in the second round of the Australian Open
at Melbourne in January.
