Serena Williams joins lineup for 2007 Family Circle Cup

Serena Williams, the reigning Australian Open champion, announced today that
she has officially entered the 2007 Family Circle Cup.

Williams, currently ranked No. 15 in the world, will be making her fourth
appearance at the Family Circle Cup in Charleston. Williams, a former No. 1
player, joins a list of elite players already committed to play in the
tournament set for April 7-15 on Daniel Island.

“I’m really looking forward to starting my clay court season at the Family
Circle Cup,” Serena Williams said. “Charleston is a great city to visit,
and I’ve always enjoyed playing the tournament.”

Maria Sharapova, the current No. 1 player in the world, is entered, along
with three other former No. 1 players -- Justine Henin, Ame'lie Mauresmo and
Martina Hingis. Five of the top 6 players in the world are in the field.

前六名內有五名選手都在參賽名單內
