Williams Sisters Get Doubles Wild Card

  Two-time Doubles champions Venus and Serena Williams have received a wild

card into the Ladies' Doubles at Wimbledon after the British pairing of Amanda

Elliott and Katie O'Brien were forced to withdraw due to injury.

  The Williams sisters won the doubles title together twice in 2000 and 2002

and between them have won Wimbledon five times. However, they have not played

in a doubles match as a pair since they lost to Elena Dementieva and Lina

Krasnoroutskaya in the third round of Wimbledon in 2003.

  In addition to their success at Wimbledon, the Williams sisters took the

Ladies' Doubles at the French Open and US Open in 1999, and won the Australian

Open twice in 2001 and 2003.
