  (Jul 19, 2007) # 7 Serena Williams has withdrawn from next week's Bank of
the West Classic at Stanford due to a left hand injury she incurred at
Wimbledon. Serena sprained her left thumb during her 4th round victory over
Daniela Hantuchova on July 4.
