Serena Williams withdraws from WTA Championships

DOHA, Qatar - Serena Williams has withdrawn from the WTA Tour's season-ending
event with an injury.

Williams pulled out shortly before her scheduled round robin match Friday
against Elena Dementieva at the Sony Ericsson Championships.

Williams said she had a stomach injury. She lost to her sister, Venus, 5-7,
6-1, 6-0 on Thursday.

With Serena Williams' withdrawal, Dementieva advances to the semifinals. -
