跟多倫多一樣的退賽原因 但今天傳出可能會在New Haven領外卡出賽 http://tinyurl.com/4x5v88l Venus Williams withdraws from W&S Open 8:51 PM, Aug. 13, 2011 Venus Williams has withdrawn from the Western & Southern Open for the second straight year. The Women’s Tennis Association’s 34th-ranked player is still recovering from the viral illness that forced her to withdraw from the Rogers Cup in Toronto last week. In 2010, she missed the W&S with left knee pain. “I regret not having the opportunity to compete in the Western and Southern Open this year,” Williams said. “I am making progress towards recovering from a viral illness that began affecting me last week, and have plans to return to the practice court in the coming days. I am optimistic that I will be ready for the US Open at the end of this month.” The 31-year-old American has been limited to three tournaments this year because of injuries and illness. She retired at the Australian Open in January because of a right hip injury and contended with hip and abdominal ailments through May. She returned in June for Eastbourne, where she reached the quarterfinals. That month she also advanced to Wimbledon’s fourth round. Williams’ only W&S appearance was in 2009. She lost to Flavia Pennetta in the Round of 16 at the Lindner Family Tennis Center in Mason. -- ※ 發信站: 批踢踢實業坊(ptt.cc) ◆ From: 61.57.114.183
