Serena, did you have a good time playing this match?
Yes, I really did. It was pleasant, and not easy at all.
Was it easier than your last head-to-head in Melbourne?
The Australian Open was the last time? I don't remember, I have a pretty bad
memory. But I'm happy to have finished the game that way
Emilie Loit doesn't play like the others. Was it still a positive experience
for you?
No, it's good for me to get used to this kind of game, and to her way of
hitting the ball. It could come in handy in the future.
At the end of the first set, you threw your racket down. What happened?
Oh yes, I did that? Like I said before, I have a bad memory. I must have been
angry.
Emilie Loit said that you were a really good World N° 1 and that you could
contribute a lot to women's tennis, including your wins, your game and your
personality. What do you think of that?
I think that's really nice of her to say that! I never wondered if my being
number one was good for women's tennis. I'm just trying to be my best.
Because it's cool to be number one! (laughs) I think that I would prefer
winning tournaments, especially Grand Slams. So I'm proud to be an ambassador
of women's tennis.
How do you feel before tomorrow's new duel with Dementieva ?
I don't know if I'm in my best shape, but I'm already focused on this match.
I think we'll both make it an exceptional match.
