“This meant a lot to me, especially given the recent few months. She’s not
easy to play against, at least against me she plays well. She actually plays
real well all the time so I was really happy to get that win. I just kept
fighting, stayed calm and kept my focus. I just kept doing what I wanted to
do. “

“She was hitting every ball on a line and making winners left and right. I
felt that had she continued to play like that, she definitely would have
deserved to win. I had an opportunity to go up 4-1 and tried to do the best I
could. For me, I just thought I had to keep trying and do the best I can.”

“I felt that I didn’t get as many first serves in as I wanted to. I’m not
going to stop hitting it, and in the last game it definitely came through. I
served OK in the second set but couldn’t get it where I wanted to in the
third set. I think I’ve always served for placement and that’s why I’m
able to hit a lot of aces.”
