Ten: Serena Williams pulls out of Scottsdale with tendinitis
SCOTTSDALE, Arizona, Feb 27 Reuters - World number one and defending champion
Serena Williams withdrew from the Scottsdale tournament today, just prior to
her opening match complaining of tendinitis in her left knee.
Unbeaten this season, Williams informed officials she could not play just an
hour before the start of her rain delayed second round match against
Alexandra Stevenson.
The Australian Open champion's place in the draw will be filled by lucky
loser Stephanie Foretz.
