SAN DIEGO (Reuters) -- Lindsay Davenport and Venus and Serena Williams have
withdrawn from next week's Acura Classic in San Diego, the WTA Tour announced
on Friday.
Venus Williams, a three-times champion at the event, has withdrawn due to
pain in her left wrist.
"I am training and rehabilitating and look forward to being back on the Sony
Ericsson WTA Tour as soon as possible," she said.
Serena, who played her first tournament in over six months last week in
Cincinnati where she lost to Vera Zvonareva in the quarter-finals, said her
sore left knee is not ready for consistent play.
"I am just coming back from injury and my doctor has advised me against playing
too much too quickly," said Serena, who had accepted a wild card into the
Acura.
"This is frustrating as I am eager to improve my ranking and play more tennis
but it is something I must do."
Davenport has been sidelined with injury since March with a back injury.
All three Americans are entered in the Los Angeles tournament the week after
San Diego.

這比賽其實也蠻慘的
之前喔 陣容真的不是普通豪華
top15裡面 只有momo跟米娜沒有報名
還有已經脫離top20的本土名將大小威
上週只有Henin退賽
這週下來 K娃退賽.Schiavone退賽.
戴姐跟大小威同時一起宣佈退賽 有慘到
而且傷兵還可能有更多
P娃跟皮姐都受傷很久沒出賽
皮姐還是衛冕冠軍
Safina在Fed Cup也有受傷
戴姐從Indian Wells跟Hingis一戰後
就再也沒有出賽了 top10的排名越來越危險
現在跟米娜只差12分 如果戴姐持續退賽
而大威(現排名24).小威(現排名108)都沒有辦法振作
會有可能造成網球開放年代以來第一次女網年終前十沒有美國人
大威若持續退賽 美網很可能不能排上種子
將跟妹妹小威一起搭上驚險刺激美網列車
前兩輪如無意外都將碰到種子
皮姐的top10排名也很危險 目前跟戴姐差48分 跟米娜差61分
但戴姐去年夏天保分很少 一直要到New Haven才要保
而皮姐是去年美網系列賽第二名
有300分的San Diego要保 如果皮姐不能衛冕
戴姐還是有機會再坐一陣子top10
