1  Casillas  1.5
The experienced goalkeeper made several great saves, but made a couple of
very costly mistakes to gift the Dutch two goals.

18  Jordi Alba  2.5
Showed some good determination to track back at times, but failed to make an
offensive impact.

15  Sergio Ramos  2
Failed to drop and clear Blind's delivery for the first goal and was exposed
on many occasions.

22  Azpilicueta  2.5
Outplayed by Blind, as the Dutch wing-back had the measure of the Chelsea
right-back throughout.

3  Piqué 2
Struggled against the pace and intelligence of Robben and Van Persie, as
Spain's defence laboured.

6  Iniesta  3
Slid through several brilliant through balls and tested Cillessen with a
couple of good efforts.

21  David Silva  3
Had one brilliant chance a few minutes before the half-time break, but was
denied by Cillessen. Showed some intelligent movement.

16  Busquets  2.5
Kept the ball and did things simply, but was pressed effectively by the Dutch
midfield.

8  Xavi  2.5
Sat in front of Busquets and Alonso and looked to dictate play by poking
through some good passes, but faded in the second half.

14  Xabi Alonso  3
Took his penalty well, fired low into the bottom corner beyond Cillessen.

19  Diego Costa  3
Won his side's penalty, going down under the challenge of De Vrij. Had a few
wayward efforts and lost his head a bit.

Substitutes

10  Fàbregas  2
Wasn't able to have any effect on the game after coming into the fray in
place of David Silva.

9  Fernando Torres  2
Failed to turn home a golden opportunity at the back post, with the ball
robbed from his toes by Blind.

11  Pedro  2.5
Had a couple of half-chances and did some intelligent running in behind to
meet diagonal balls.


  Netherlands  

1  J. Cillessen  3.5
Made a number of good saves and read play well on several occasions to deny
clever Spanish through balls.

7  D. Janmaat  3
Stuck to his task admirably, covering well despite struggling to deal with
the movement of Silva and Iniesta early on.

4  B. Martins Indi  3
Put in a couple of important blocks and competed well during set-pieces.
Received a headbutt from Diego Costa which went unpunished.

5  D. Blind  4
A phenomenal performance which was not only defensively responsible, but
included some brilliant deliveries from the left.

3  S. de Vrij  3
Gave away a first-half penalty, but made up for his error as he scrambled
home at the back post after the break.

2  R. Vlaar  3.5
Dealt with Costa effectively, ensuring that his physical presence was always
felt with some great challenges.

6  N. de Jong  3
Fortunate to not pick up an early booking for some poor tackles, but the AC
Milan man managed to break up play fairly well.

8  J. de Guzmán  3
Was an engine in the centre of midfield, always willing to press and harry.

10  W. Sneijder  3
Fairly quiet on his 100th appearance for Oranje, failing to beat Casillas
thanks to a poorly placed finish and a slip.

11  A. Robben  4.5
Tore the Spanish defensive lines to pieces, netting twice and forcing
Casillas into a string of solid stops late on.

9  R. van Persie  4.5
Took his opening header beautifully and was unfortunate to strike the bar
from a questionably offside position. Capitalised on Casillas' poor touch to
score a second.

Substitutes

13  J. Veltman  3
Sat in and competed in the late stages, as the Netherlands looked to hold
onto their impressive lead.

20  G. Wijnaldum  3
Unfortunate not to score with a clear opportunity late on, but provided
plenty of vibrancy and running from deep.

17  J. Lens  3
Proved pace and power late on, breaking down the left-hand side beyond Ramos
brilliantly on one occasion.
