美國人愛吃的漢堡怎麼來的呢?

What is American food? What does American eat? Well, pretty much anything
nowadays. Yet, over the years, hamburger became the most popular American
food. Why so? Let's talk briefly about the history of the hamburger and
how it gets popular in the States.

美國食物是些什麼料理? 美國人都吃些什麼呢? 嗯…其實，現今(集合各家文化的大
融爐)的美國是甚麼都吃的! 不過，這些年來，漢堡卻成為最受歡迎的美國食物；為
什麼呢? 我們來簡單說說有關漢堡的由來以及它怎麼會在美國普及的原因吧!

It is believed that the hamburger got its name from the German town named
Hamburg. Hamburg was known for its ground steak. It is said that in the
early 19th century German immigrants to the United Sates introduced the
hamburger steak. Hamburger steak was served on buns for the first time in
1904 at the St. Louis World’s Fair. Since that time, serving hamburgers
on buns became the regular way of eating hamburgers.

人們相信漢堡這個名字是從德國的Hamburg這個鎮名而來的。而Hamburg一向以絞牛肉
餅聞名。早在19世紀初德國移民到美國時順便把漢堡牛肉餅引進。 在1904年的
St. Louis世界展會時，人們第一次將牛肉餅夾在圓麵包中食用，從那個時候以後，漢
堡就都是這樣子被食用。

所以說漢堡是源自於德國的Hamburg，傳到全世界，所以才叫做hamburger....
