FIBA suspends Lebanese Basketball Federation
MIES, Switzerland (FIBA): Following the disruption of the Lebanese national
championship due to political and judicial interferences, FIBA suspended the
Lebanese Basketball Federation (LBF) on 11 July 2013 for serious infringement
of the FIBA General Statutes and all principles under which the Olympic
sports movement is founded.
黎巴嫩國家聯賽因政治與司法干預而中斷，之後FIBA便將LBF(黎巴嫩籃協)
暫時除籍，因為這嚴重違反了FIBA總規章，也違反了奧林匹克組織成立依據
的所有原則。
After a thorough review of the situation, FIBA notes that the LBF is not
properly armed to face political interferences and solve sporting disputes
within its own structures. In addition, FIBA has been informed of allegations
of wrongdoings and political pressure leading a number of federation
officials to resign from their positions in the Management Board.
檢視過整個況況後，FIBA發現LBF選擇逃避，不去正視政治干預，沒有在自
己的組織架構下解決運動場上產生的爭議。
更甚者，FIBA還收到對於(他們)惡行的指控，政治力迫使許多協會官員辭去
他們在理事會中的位置。
FIBA and FIBA Asia did not want to penalize athletes, technical staff,
sponsors and basketball fans who have worked for so long and eagerly awaited
the participation of Lebanon at the upcoming FIBA Asia Championship and
possibly the FIBA Basketball World Cup. This is why FIBA offered - through a
letter dated 28 June 2013 - the LBF the opportunity to solve these matters
urgently. Regretfully, the Lebanese basketball family was not in the position
to meet the requirements outlined and must now assume the consequences of its
organizational deficiencies and actions.
FIBA和FIBA Asia當然不想懲罰運動選手、技術人員、贊助者和球迷，這些
人努力了這麼久，殷盼著黎巴嫩隊參與這次的亞錦賽，甚至是明年世界盃，
因此FIBA早在6月28日就函信給LBF，給他們機會趕緊解決這些問題。

Until proper structures and statutes are put into place to ensure that basic
activities - such as holding of a national championship - of the national
federation can be carried out smoothly, with proper regulations and without
political interference, the LBF shall not be re-admitted with full rights as
a member of FIBA or be allowed to participate in international basketball
competitions.
架構與法規必須回到定位，以確保任何籃協基本活動──例如舉辦國家聯賽──
都能運行無阻，有適當規範而無政治干預。
在做到這點前，LBF無法再獲認可有身為FIBA會員國的完整權力，也不能再
參加國際比賽。
FIBA and FIBA Asia remain fully committed to helping the LBF in its
re-organization process. FIBA will establish a Working group to meet with all
parties, supervise the Extraordinary General Assembly and help establish a
federation that functions independently and effectively, in accordance with
all principles that are at the core of FIBA’s General Statutes.
在LBF的重組過程中，FIBA和FIBA Asia還是會不離不棄給予幫助。FIBA將會
成立工作團隊，拜會各個政黨，監看特別議會，並成立一個協會，其能依據
FIBA總章程的中心原則獨立而正確地運作。
