The areas surrounding university campuses appear to be the places most
vulnerable to bicycle theft in Taipei, taking the top three spots in a list
issued by city police of locations where bicycles are most likely to be stolen.
以北市警局所公布的單車10大失竊地點當中前三名來看，
大學校園周邊似乎是最難防範單車賊的地方。




According to a report provided by the Taipei City Police Department to
the Taipei City Council, the largest number of bicycle thefts reported in
the city during the first three months of 2009 took place in areas surrounding
the National Taiwan University campus, following by those surrounding
the National Taiwan Normal University campus and the National Taipei University
of Technology campus.
根據台北市警察局提供給市議會的資料報告中指出，
今年前三個月，北市單車失竊報案數最多的是在台灣大學校園附近，
接下來是台灣師範大學、台灣科技大學周邊。




Rounding out the top 10 were areas surrounding the Hsinyi smoke-free park,
the Taipei Public Library, Daan Forest Park, the Jiantan metro station,
the area in front of No. 90 Songjiang Road, the Taipei City Hall metro station,
and the Zhishan metro station.
前10名其他的地點還有信義無菸示範廣場、市立圖書館周邊、大安森林公園周邊、
劍潭捷運站周邊、松仁路90號前、市府捷運站周邊、芝山捷運站周邊。




The report shows that of the 99 bicycle thefts reported between the
January-March period in the city, 54, or 54.55 percent, have been solved.
報告中顯示，1到3月北市單車失竊報案件數為99件、破獲案件數54件，破獲率54.55%。




The National Police Agency (NPA) attributed the increase in bicycle theft
to the popularity of cycling as a leisure activity in recent years.
警政署認為，單車失竊案件增加，主要是因為近年來，
國人騎單車作為休閒活動的風潮愈來愈盛。




Another factor is the lack of a system in the country to provide each bicycle
with an identification code, the NPA said, adding that the agency has recently begun to promote such a system in an effort to reduce bicycle theft rates.
另外警政署指出，國內目前缺乏提供單車身分識別碼的系統，
是竊案增加的另一項原因，並表示署方近期已開始推動單車烙碼系統，
可望降低單車失竊率。
