Subject: [themirror] guess i should say hi. hi everyone... as i'm new in the list, i guess it's appropriate to say a few words of me before getting into the subjects. I'm also a DT fan (what's quite obvious, anyway...) and i think it's pretty cool being able to share opinions and ideas with other ppl who are also into it. I'm from Brazil (a great country), and i've been playing drumz for about 5 or 6 years. My first contatct with DT music was about 4 years ago, when my teahcer at the time showed me "metropolis". Of course i was amazed, and i became a great fan since then. DT is not only a source of musical inspiration, but also of "spiritual inspiration" to me. "To Live Forever" can really pull me up from the dark pits of life, so as "Take The Time", "Surrounded" and many other songs that seem to carry a bit of hope and endurance. Anyways, music can be magical, and DT sure is magical, not to mention the monsterous drumming of Mike Portnoy...this guy really rocks, and i dare to say he's between the 5 or 6 finest drummers alive. The other guys are also great, but as a drummer i pay more attention (and i trip a lot more!) on the drums and the bass. Jonh Myung is also a "monster", and i'd love to jam with him someday...hehe, what's life without these little nonsense dreams? :) that's it...i hope i didn't brake any rule by introducing myself. and about nice DT songs to play on the radio, i guess 'Surrounded' , 'Hollow Years' , '6:00', 'Innocence faded' and 'the silent man' would be nice. anyways, that's just my humble opinion... thnx ppl...
