Hmmm, i don't know... I was pretty impressed with James' vocals even after
a concert of more than three hours. I saw DT 3 days after the Paris
concert and KJLB's singing was really bad on that show. No really he
surprised me in a positive way, although it is a fact that, like Dave
Kobayashi said on the Jam, James' vocal range is declining...

If it weren't for bootlegs, the "A Change of Seasons" EP would never have
been released. The fans heard the song on the DOE bootleg and requested that
they release a studio version. In the end DT made some change from it.
P.S. I own about 15 DT bootlegs and every one of them is great quality, in
fact some of them are better quality that OIALT.

Hey, I'd be interested in picking up a couple of DT bootlegs if they're
really THAT good. If any of you have any info. on how to get them,
please let me know at: alistair_y@hotmail.com
ps. I don't know anything about bootlegs so if what I'm asking is
illegal, just disregard this message.
Thanx.

I still don't like bootlegs, while, yes, there are some good quality
bootlegs out there, the vast majority of them are there for the
reason of some selfish person who wants to make money on someone
else's work and talent.
As For COS, if you read the liner notes in it, you will also see that
COS was originally destined to be a part of" Images And Words", and
Written alongside" Metropolis-Part I", but ultimately the band
decided that it did not fit well there. They played it live, it got
bootlegged, peopled heard it, and yes, it became a studio production
in part because of that, so do bootlegs have their place? I have to
admit, yes.
but still, DT does NOT receive any monetary compensation on bootlegs
sold. When they make money, we get more albums,,see what i'm getting
at?

I wouldn't say his ability is declining,, i'd be more apt to say
~tired~ is a better word. Singing is hard work, and physically very
strenous. Credit where credit is due, the band carries on and does
their best for our sake. I find Jame's effort admirable.

There's really no point in arguing about bootlegs being right or wrong in
the case of DT, is there? Considering that they support bootlegs and a great
deal of the ones out there were recorded by Portnoy himself and then mailed
to his friends that trade. If he's a part of it, should we object?

To which I say- No, James is NOT the only one who messes up a bit, JM
musses up a bit in the beginning of~Voices~,JP mussed up a bit in a
few places too, like his solo, So does Derek, and JP, it happens,,
As for the "he should be fired part", well, that's your opinion and
your entitled to it, but go listen to the hideous vocals on WDADU,
and then tell me who the better choice is...
All I am saying, is lets not nitpick a fantastic band for minor, I
mean minor muss ups
