Heroes 3 (bugs fix) - maybe not the CPU problem! try
1) Launch the installation. Select either yes or no at the DirectX
prompt, depending on if you want it.
2) At the Welcome screen, Minimize the Installation window (press <Alt> +
<Tab> at the same time).
3) Go to your temp directory. If you don't know where that is, go into
your START menu, select Programs, then select MS-DOS Prompt. You will be
at a black screen with the C:\Windows> prompt, with a cursor flashing.
Type in (lowercase is fine):
CD.. <Enter>
You should be at the C:\> prompt now. Type in:
SET <Enter>
There should be a short list. You should note down what is to the right
of the TEMP= line. Now, type in: EXIT <Enter> This should bring you back
to Windows. What you noted down earlier was the location of your temp
folder. For example, if it said: C:\Windows\temp, you could go into
Windows Explorer (START, Programs, Windows Explorer), and click on the +
next to the C: drive (in the left column), then click on the + next to
the Windows folder, then click ON the temp folder. Look over on the right
(where it shows the contents of the temp folder), and find the
"_istmp#.dir" folder (where the # is any number). If there is more
than one _istmp#.dir, find the one with the largest #. Double-click on
that folder. Find and double-click on the "_istmp0.dir" folder.
Find, then click on the file "chkreqs.dll" to highlight it. Press the
<Del> key on your keyboard to delete the file. Empty your Recycle Bin
(also the Norton Protected Bin, if you have it). Exit Windows Explorer,
then press <Alt> + <Tab> again to continue the installation.
Finish the installation as normal, and enjoy the game!
