<Picard> "Mr. LaForge, have you had any success with
your attempts at finding a weakness in the Borg? And
Mr. Data, have you been able to access their command
pathways?"
<畢凱>「鷹眼，你有沒有找到博格人的任何弱點？還有，
百科，你是否已接上對方的指揮通道？」
<Geordi>"Yes, Captain. In fact, we found the answer by
searching through our archives on late Twentieth-century
computing technology."
<鷹眼>「有的，艦長。事實上，我們是在有關二十世紀末電腦科
技的檔案中找到的。」
<Geordi presses a key,and a logo appears on the computer
screen.>
<鷹眼按了一個鍵，一個標幟出現在電腦螢幕上。>
<Riker looks puzzled.> "What the hell is 'Microsoft'?"

<Data turns to answer.> "Allow me to explain. We will
send this program, for some reason called 'Windows',
through the Borg command pathways. Once inside their
root command unit, it will begin consuming system
resources at an unstoppable rate."

的程式送入博格人的命令通道中。只要它進入了他們的底層命

<Picard> "But the Borg have the ability to adapt.
Won't they alter their processing systems to increase
their storage capacity?"

<Data> "Yes, Captain. But when 'Windows' detects this,it
creates a new version of itself known as an 'upgrade'.
The use of resources increases exponentially with each
iteration. The Borg will not be able to adapt quickly
enough. Eventually all of their processing ability will
be taken over and none will be available for their
normal operational functions."
<百科>「是的，艦長。但當『Windows』發現這點時，它會造出

<Data> "Captain, we have successfully installed the
'Windows' in the command unit and as expected it
immediately consumed 85% of all resources. We however
have not received any confirmation of the expected
'upgrade'."
<百科>「艦長，我們已經將『Windows』植入他們的命令單元。
正如預期地，它立刻消耗掉全部資源的85%。可是我們還沒有得
到任何有關『昇級版』的消息。」
<Geordi> "Our scanners have picked up an increase in
Borg storage and CPU capacity to compensate, but we
still have no indication of an 'upgrade' to compensate
for their increase."
<鷹眼>「我們的掃瞄器發現博格人的儲存容量和CPU能力都有提
昇，但仍然沒有任何『昇級版』的跡象。」
<Picard> "Data, scan the history banks again and
determine if their is something we have missed."
<畢凱>「百科，再搜尋一遍歷史資料庫，看看我們有沒有漏掉什
麼。」
<Data> "Sir, I believe there is a reason for the
failure in the 'upgrade'. Apparently the Borg have
circumvented that part of the plan by not sending in
their registration cards.
<百科>「長官，我想有一個原因會使得『昇級版』不來。顯然
博格人沒有寄出他們的註冊卡，才會躲掉我們計畫的這一部
分。」
<Riker> "Captain we have no choice. Requesting
permission to begin emergency escape sequence 3F . . ."
<瑞克>「艦長，我們沒有選擇了。請淮許啟動緊急脫離
程序3F...」
<Geordi, excited> "Wait, Captain I just detected their
CPU capacity has suddenly dropped to 0% !"
<鷹眼興奮狀>「等一下，艦長，我剛偵測到他們的CPU能力忽然
掉到0%！」
<Picard> "Data, what does your scanners show?"
<畢凱>「百科，你的掃瞄器上怎麼說？」
<Data> "Apparently the Borg have found the internal
'Windows' module named 'Solitaire' and it has used up
all the CPU capacity."
<百科>「顯然博格人找到『Windows』內一個叫做『接龍』的模
組，而這個模組用光了CPU的處理能力。」
<Picard> "Lets wait and see how long this 'solitaire'
can reduce their functionality."
<畢凱>「我們再等一等，看這個『接龍』可以削弱他們的功能多
久。」
. . . Two Hours Pass . . .
. . . 兩小時後 . . .
<Riker> "Geordi what's the status on the Borg?"
<瑞克>「鷹眼，博格人那兒怎樣了？」
<Geordi> "As expected the Borg are attempting to
re-engineer to compensate for increased CPU and storage
demands, but each time they successfully increase
resources I have setup our closest deep space monitor
beacon to transmit more 'windows' modules from something
called the 'Microsoft fun-pack'.
<鷹眼>「博格人正如預期地嘗試修改CPU和記憶體，來補償需求
的增加，但我已經設定好我們離他們最近的深太空監測站，只要
他們一增加他們的資源，我們就從一個叫『微軟歡樂包』的東西
裏找出更多的『Windows』模組來傳送給他們。」
<Picard> "How much time will that buy us ?"

the 'Microsoft' logo"

<Over the speakers> "THIS IS ADMIRAL BILL GATES OF THE
MICROSOFT FLAGSHIP MONOPOLY. WE HAVE POSITIVE
CONFIRMATION OF UNREGISTERED SOFTWARE IN THIS SECTOR.
SURRENDER ALL ASSETS AND WE CAN AVOID ANY TROUBLE. YOU
HAVE 10 SECONDS"
<擴音器中傳來>「這裡是微軟旗艦獨佔號艦隊司令比爾蓋茲。
我們確認在本區有未註冊的軟體。繳出所有的財產，我們就不找
你們麻煩。給你們十秒鐘。」
<Data> "The alien ship has just opened its forward
hatches and released thousands of humanoid shaped
objects."
<百科>「外星船隻剛打開了前艙蓋，放出數以千計的人形
物體。」
<Picard> "Magnify forward viewer on the alien craft"
<畢凱>「放大前視儀上的外星船隻。」
<Riker> "Good God captain! Those are humans floating
straight toward the Borg ship with no life support
suits! How can they survive the tortures of deep
space ?!"
<瑞克>「老天哪，艦長！那些是沒穿太空裝的人類，直接飄往

<Data> "I don't believe that those are humans sir, if
you will look closer I believe you will see that they
are carrying something recognized by twenty-first
century man as doe skin leather briefcases, and wearing
Armani suits"

<Riker and Picard together horrified> "Lawyers!!"

<Geordi> "It can't be. All the Lawyers were rounded up
and sent hurtling into the sun in 2017 during the Great
Awakening."

<Data> "True, but apparently some must have survived."

<Riker> "They have surrounded the Borg ship and are
covering it with all types of papers."

<Data> "I believe that is known in ancient vernacular
as 'red tape' it often proves fatal."
<百科>「我相信在古代俗語中那東西叫做『紅帶』，是會致命

<Riker> "They're tearing the Borg to pieces!"
